Halo Driverless Car Service
T-Mobile 5G Powers Halo and Las Vegas' Driverless Car Service
Driverless Halos solves transportation issues with a people-first approach for autonomous cars
Everything, from connected farms and cars to connected homes, is now powered by 5G. Halo has launched one of the most innovative commercial driverless car services in America today. It runs on the TMobile (NASDAQ:TMUS) 5G network in Las Vegas. Visitors and residents alike can easily summon a sleek, driverless, all-electric Halo at the touch of a button with Halo. Once the driverless Halo has arrived at the pickup point, the rider can hop in and drive to their destination.
Since its first drive on Las Vegas' roads, Halo has been connected to the T-Mobile5G network. Halo is working with local governments to speed up the adoption electric vehicles (EVs). This will help to reduce traffic congestion and emissions. It also connects public transit systems to driverless, on-demand cars. The company will begin providing rides for customers in the Las Vegas Valley later this year. Halo will eventually be fully deployed in the city and can replace the need to own thousands of cars. This will create a safer, more sustainable, and blue-sky world.
The People First Approach to Autonomy
Halo’s service is simple and safe. The mobile app will allow riders to summon a driverless EV. A driverless Halo arrives to the pick-up point and the rider hops into it and drives to their destination. No parking is required upon arrival. The Halo then moves autonomously to the next pick up location.
Halo's RemotePilot technology enables in-house drivers and technicians to remotely control the driverless vehicle over T-Mobile’s 5G network. Halo has created an Advanced Safe Stop mechanism which allows its cars to instantly stop when a safety hazard is detected or a system anomaly is detected. The car uses an advanced Artificial Intelligence algorithm to learn in the background, while humans control it. This feedback loop allows for the car to gain Level 3 capabilities over time.
T-Mobile's 5G Open Innovation Lab co-founded Halo. The company is a leader in driverless and autonomous vehicle technology. Halo was founded in 2016 by executives from Uber Cruise Robotics Proterra and Amazon.
TMobile 5G: A Platform for Autonomous Car Innovation
T-Mobile America's leader in 5G has the fastest, most reliable, and largest 5G network. Its 5G network, which covers nearly 300 million people, has a platform that allows for innovation. The coverage is almost 2x greater than AT&T's and 4x better than Verizon. T-Mobile has now made Sprint a part of Sprint, so the Un-carrier can expand its reach. It is lighting up Ultra Capacity5G throughout the country, bringing fast 5G speeds in more places than anyone else. Ultra Capacity 5G is capable of delivering speeds up to 325 Mbps, with peak speeds of 1 Gbps. This coverage now includes 150 million people.
